Cookies and localStorage are different
A cookie is a small record a browser can send with relevant web requests. localStorage is browser storage that page scripts can read for the same origin; it is not automatically attached to every request. Both can remember information, so this page explains the one localStorage entry used here.
Preference controls / this browser only
Choose what to remember
Either selection saves only your choice. Allowing preferences does not activate any optional feature, analytics or advertising in this edition. Essential operation works without a saved selection.
Checking this browser’s saved choice…
What is stored?
- Storage key
garden-storage-choice- Possible values
essentialorpreferences- Purpose
- Remember the choice made on this page
- Duration
- Until cleared; no automatic expiry
This entry contains no name, email address, message text or unique visitor identifier. Browser storage may be unavailable in some privacy modes or configurations. If saving fails, the page reports that limitation and essential operation remains active.
What is not stored by the supplied code?
The navigation menu state and reveal animations last only for the current page. Field-note inputs and prepared text are not saved to cookies or localStorage. A copied note can remain in your device’s clipboard, and a downloaded note remains wherever your browser saves it. Those are device-level copies you control.
Clearing data and browser settings
Use Clear saved choice to remove this site’s preference entry, or use your browser’s site-data settings to remove stored information for curiousbuttonfrnzy.garden. Clearing a preference does not erase an email you have sent, a downloaded text file or clipboard history.
